Basia Bulat - Your own argument and Eladio

"Heart of my own", second work of Canadian Basia Bulat was one of my hard head in 2010. When I discovered what I shared and his songs have been heard on my trip to Italy or Colombia, reminding distant landscapes that were painted with the notes of "If Only You," "Gold Rush" or let me mind go blank when appeared, "I'm Forgetting everyone."

His vivid folk was the resurgent perfect for my mood, take every word as my own voice and decorated the cities or the countryside. Those of Rockdelux

already said too, that does not lose sight of, and if you missed this wonderful album, there's still time to do it, no shortage of arguments.

NEW FOLK:
For those who discovered the bonanzas of this young Canadian artist with his debut album, "Oh, my darling" (2007), this second album will be a pleasant surprise. Because if the weak point of that was going through a significant lack of verve in his compositions, here energizes his vocal and compositional sensitivity, which leads her to the paths of the more optimistic side of the new folk song.

Thus, in the "Heart of my own" find ukuleles, mandolins, guitars, violas and living in harmony with a richer Bump that, along with the evocative and vibrant Bulat's voice, his songs make sweet and rich niche music.

Stylistically somewhere between Feist, St. Vincent and Serena Ryder, Toronto and commitment to breathe life into his compositions without sacrificing the inherent sensitivity to his music. In short, a good record, incidentally, improves the proposal for an artist who should not lose track.

I leave you with "Sugar and spice", the first cut slowly introducing the album and the influences that breathe Natalie Merchant. The instrumentation is a delight and Basia, more restrained than usual, offers the best know-how sweet. Nothing spicy.
